Fuchsia hybrids can be grown here with special care just like the tasty melons that were once only imported from temperate regions, which can be grown here in greenhouses. With improvements achieved in the laboratory, we often come across new plants that can be introduced here and this beautiful fuchsia or lantern flower is a good example. Fuchsias can be grown in most climatic conditions, but they do not toler- ate overly hot areas. They are ideally grown in semi-shaded areas here. That is exactly what someone in Sarikei has done and successfully gotten the plants to bloom.
